The Black Monarch Hotel is a former casino and brothel in the gorgeous, sleepy mining town of Victor, Colorado. It was rebuilt in 1899 after a fire, hence the alleged hauntings, and there are rumors of barkeep gun fights and all the sorts of things you’d imagine happening in such a building.
The Black Monarch opened its beautiful old creepy doors to photographers, artists, filmmakers and musicians to shoot spooky photos and videos. Countless works of art were created here, adding to the building’s magical energy.
When the Black Monarch opened its doors to the public, the initial press campaign took the storied property to international acclaim. It was declared “One of the U.S.’s most haunted hotels” (The Metro UK), and was featured in the Daily Mail, The Guardian UK, Lonely Planet, Travel + Leisure, Inked, Refinery29 and more.
